Strategy Overview
Artio International Equity Fund II
The International Equity Fund II primarily invests outside the United States in issuers with mid- and large sized companies. The Adviser currently views this as firms with a market capitalization greater than $2.5 billion as determined at the time of purchase but the Fund may also invest in smaller capitalization issuers. The Adviser manages the Fund using a core approach and is not constrained by a particular investment style, investing in both "growth" and "value" securities. The investment process places thinking before screening and uses a variety of strategies to analyze industries, sectors and regions and generally utilizes a bottom-up analysis in developed markets and a top-down approach in emerging markets. Japan is treated as a hybrid of the two.
Artio Global Equity Fund Inc.
The Global Equity Fund normally invests in a portfolio of equity securities of issuers located throughout the world, including emerging markets. The Fund has a bias toward mid- and large-capitalization companies, but may also invest in small-capitalization companies. The Adviser manages the Fund using a core approach and is not constrained by a particular investment style, investing in both "growth" and "value" securities. The investment process places thinking before screening and uses a variety of strategies to analyze industries, sectors and regions and generally utilizes a bottom-up analysis in developed markets and a top-down approach in emerging markets. Japan is treated as a hybrid of the two.
Artio US Microcap Fund
The US Microcap Fund invests in a portfolio of US equity securities of small-capitalization companies within the range of the Russell 2000 and Russell Microcap Indices, at the time of purchase. The Fund is managed as a core domestic equity product and is not constrained by a particular style, investing in both "growth" and "value" securities. Investments are selected utilizing an active process that combines financial analysis with company meetings to evaluate management and their strategies. The Fund’s analyst team prides itself on conducting extensive, independent research in an effort to gain insight into potential investments. A thorough understanding of each company’s business model and operating environment is achieved through discussions with management, customers, suppliers, merchants and competitors.
Artio US Smallcap Fund
The US Smallcap Fund invests in a portfolio of US equity securities whose market capitalization at the time of purchase falls (i) within the market capitalization range of companies within the Russell 2000 Index or (ii) below the three year average maximum market capitalization of companies in the Russell 2000 Index as of December 31 of the three preceding years. The Fund is managed as a core domestic equity product and is not constrained by a particular style, investing in both "growth" and "value" securities. Investments are selected utilizing an active process that combines financial analysis with company meetings to evaluate management and their strategies. The Fund’s analyst team prides itself on conducting extensive, independent research in an effort to gain insight into potential investments. Artio US Midcap Fund
The US Midcap Fund invests in a portfolio of US equity securities whose market capitalization at the time of purchase falls (i) within the market capitalization range of companies within the Russell Midcap Index or (ii) below the three year average maximum market capitalization of companies in the Russell Midcap Index as of December 31 of the three preceding years. The Fund is managed as a core domestic equity product and is not constrained by a particular style, investing in both "growth" and "value" securities. Artio US Multicap Fund
The US Multicap Fund invests in US equity securities of all market capitalization sizes. The Fund is managed as a core domestic equity product and is not constrained by a particular style, investing in both "growth" and "value" securities. Investments are selected utilizing an active process that combines financial analysis with company meetings to evaluate management and their strategies. The Fund’s analyst team prides itself on conducting extensive, independent research in an effort to gain insight into potential investments. A thorough understanding of each company’s business model and operating environment is achieved through discussions with management, customers, suppliers, merchants and competitors.
Artio Total Return Bond Fund
The Total Return Bond Fund has a distinct investment process, with a core US portfolio and the ability to opportunistically invest in foreign debt and currencies. It also has a willingness to differ from both competitors and the benchmark. The Fund invests primarily in investment grade, intermediate term bonds denominated in currencies of a variety of countries throughout the world and multinational currencies, such as the euro. The Fund seeks to maximize current income, while preserving principal, and can offer investors access to both domestic and international bonds via a single investment vehicle.
Artio Global High Income Fund
The Global High Income Fund seeks to provide attractive risk-adjusted returns, primarily through income generation. The Fund takes a global view of investing with 40% maximum non-US exposure and purchases primarily high income producing instruments of both US and foreign issue, including high yield or high risk bonds as well as and “allied” asset classes including leveraged loans, catastrophe bonds, “busted” convertibles and distressed debt. The Adviser utilizes a disciplined approach toward sector rotation that emphasizes bottom-up, credit driven security selection and a top-down approach to asset allocation.
Artio Emerging Markets Local Currency Debt Fund
The Emerging Markets Local Currency Debt Fund invests in fixed income instruments economically tied to an emerging market country, generally meaning the issuer or guarantor is a government of an emerging market country organized under the laws of an emerging market country, or if the currency of settlement of the security is a currency of an emerging market country. It also invests in emerging market currencies through the use of short term money market instruments, spot and forward foreign exchange contracts or other derivative instruments. The Fund’s investment process centers on analyzing macroeconomic factors and quantitative and qualitative country fundamentals such as government finances and monetary policy.

4. Complete an Account Application

For IRA and Coverdell education savings accounts, please read the important Disclosure Statement & Custodial Account Agreement. If you request a prospectus via mail, an application will also be included.
Automatic Investment Plan (AIP)
Class A Shareholders only can choose to invest in the Artio Global Funds through our Automatic Investment Plan (AIP). AIP enables investors to make regular investments in amounts not less than $100 per month. Simply complete the AIP information on your application, and we will automatically debit the account you indicate (checking or savings) on the 15th day of each month. (Since automatic investment plans involve continuous investment in securities regardless of fluctuating price levels of such securities, you should consider your financial ability to continue purchases through periods of low price levels. Such a plan does not assure a profit and does not protect against loss in declining markets.)
